Le Fournil de Plett

Le Fournil de Plett is a charming French bakery & café situated at the heart of Plettenberg Bay’s Main Street in the Lookout Courtyard with al fresco seating in the courtyard and a deck with panoramic ocean views and cosy indoor café seating.

Breakfast and lunches served everyday from 08h00 (on Sunday, only breakfast is served!)

For over 7 years, Le Fournil de Plett has been producing freshly baked artisan breads and light French pastries. All baked goods are made using organic stone-ground flour and farm butter, for a taste that is simply delicious.

Le Fournil de Plett is committed to using local and/organic ingredients as much as possible and serve only free-range eggs, chicken and beef, biologically grown salad and has recently sourced quality chocolate from Central Africa! Every dish is made from scratch and of the highest quality.

In summer, our little courtyard is packed – our willow tree provides welcome shade and a delightful space for a brunch or lazy afternoon. The balcony, which overlooks Main Street, is shaded by umbrellas and offers smoking customers a quiet place of their own.

In the winter months, our fire creates a cosy and welcoming environment for customers to enjoy our “Soup of the Day”, served with chunky slices of fresh bread for R38, make use of our fast & free WiFi, while their children play happily in the kiddie’s corner.

Come summer or winter, rain or shine; Le Fournil de Plett is a little slice of France right in the middle of Plettenberg Bay and is much beloved by locals & visitors for it’s relaxed ambience, fresh pastries and breads, aromatic coffee and teas and delectable dishes.
